Karen is honored to have modeled for a stone sculpture installed at the entry to Winfield's Island Park. Her statue joins three other "local" pickers jamming on their instruments. Karen was born and raised in Winfield, and began playing autoharp while in high school after hearing Bryan Bowers perform at the Walnut Valley Festival there. It was also at Walnut Valley where she won the 1986 International Autoharp Championship. The carver was Dallas Jordon of Winfield.
